Sandra Lou Gonzales, 65, entered into eternal rest on Friday, March 8, 2024, in McAllen, Texas. She was born on December 16, 1958, in Raymondville, Texas, to Ralph and Eva Gonzales.
Sandra leaves behind hundreds of students that she has taught throughout her 35 years of dedicated teaching. Her commitment and passion in education are characterized by the lasting impact she left on countless lives. After her years of teaching, Sandra enjoyed her well-deserved time in retirement.
After retirement, Sandra found joy in traveling, immersing herself in nature through going on hikes and visiting the beach to relax. She was also known for her love of music and dancing. And let's not forget, her cooking skills were unmatched! She delighted her family with so many of her delicious meals.
In addition, Sandra was an incredibly proud grandmother. Along with her 3 beautiful grandchildren, she cherished her 3 dachshunds, who held a special place in her heart.
She is survived by her daughter, Marlena Eve Garza (Gerardo Jr.), her son, Oscar A. Rivas III, her brother, Andy Gonzales (Michelle), her sister, Annette Y. Gonzales (Clyde Sayre), and her grandchildren, Everardo C. Garza, Mila N. Garza, and Yael P. Garza.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Eva Gonzales.
Honored to serve as pallbearers are Everardo C. Garza, Gerardo Garza Jr., Ralph Andrew Gonzales III, Clyde Sayre, Hal A. Anderson, and Hector Gonzales.
Visitation will be held on Monday, March 11, 2024, from 12 p.m. until 9 p.m., with a holy rosary at 7 p.m. at Good Shepherd Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 12, 2024, at 2 p.m. at Good Shepherd Funeral Home. Interment will follow to her final resting place at the Raymondville Memorial Park Cemetery.
