Alberto Rodriguez Jr., 39, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, March 18, 2023, at Windsor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Raymondville, TX. He was born on December 22, 1983, to Alberto Rodriguez Sr. and Maria Del Carmen Rodriguez.
He served in the U.S. Army and did two tours in Iraq. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service medal, Iraq Campaign medal, Army Service Ribbon, and Combat Infantryman badge. Alberto was also a Purple Heart recipient.
He is survived by his mother, Maria del Carmen Rodriguez, sons, Roman A. Morris, Jason A. Rodriguez, Nicholas G. Rodriguez, and Jaylen A. Rodriguez, brothers, Arandu, Santiago, Osborn, and Marcelino Rodriguez and sisters, Elisa, Maria del Carmen, and Perla Rodriguez. He was preceded in death by his father, Alberto Rodriguez Sr., paternal grandparents, maternal grandparents, uncles, and aunts.
Visitation will be held today, Wednesday, March 22, 2023, from 2:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. with a rosary service at 7:00 P.M. at Good Shepherd Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held Thursday, March 23, 2023, at 10:00 A.M. at Good Shepherd Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Rio Grande Valley State Veterans Cemetery in Mission where he will receive full military honors.
