Anita Romo

Anita V. Romo, 96, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, November 30, 2021, at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Harlingen, TX. She was born on July 24, 1925, in Mission, Texas to Hilario Villarreal and Antonia Sanchez.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Nicolas Romo Sr., son, Hilario Romo (Mary Jane), sisters, Delia Martinez, Elva Contreras, and brothers, Felix Villarreal and Rodolfo Villarreal. She is survived by her sons, Arturo Villarreal (Juanita), Nicolas Romo Jr. (Irma), Bonifacio Romo (Lupita), Roque Romo (Yvonne), Rey Romo (Sharonda), daughters, Angie Martinez (Manuel), Virginia Salazar (Eloy), Estella Medina (Mike), Sylvia Villarreal (Miguel), 39 grandchildren, 98 great grandchildren, and 19 great great grandchildren.

Viewing was held on Thursday, December 2, 2021, from 9:00 A.M. until 9:00 P.M., then continued on Friday, December 3, 2021, from 9:00 A.M. until 9:00 P.M. with a rosary at 7:00 P.M. A funeral mass was held on Saturday, December 4, 2021, at 2:00 P.M. at Prince of Peace in Lyford. A funeral procession was followed to her final place of rest in the Lyford Evergreen Cemetery.

Honored to serve as pallbearers were David Villalobos, Mike Medina Jr., Arturo Villarreal Jr., Rey Ramirez, Lee Romo, Rocky Romo, and Jonathan Romo.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the caring hands of Good Shepherd Funeral Home, 1157 W. Hidalgo Ave., Raymondville, TX 78580.
