Mr. Antonio Duron, Jr., 87, of San Perlita, entered into eternal rest, Saturday, February 4, 2023, surrounded by his loving family, wife of 52 years, Rosa Rodriguez Duron; daughter, Rosebel “Rosie” Duron; and son, Antonio “Tony” Duron, III. Antonio was born April 19, 1935, in San Perlita, TX to Antonio Duron, Sr., and Diria Colchado Duron.
He is also survived by his siblings, Ernesto Duron, Sr., Roberto Duron, Berta Duron Trevino, Aurora Duron Lantz, Dora Duron Gomez, Irma Duron Rodriguez, and Gloria Duron Leos; nieces, nephews, and extended family members. He is preceded in death by his parents; and siblings, Hortencia Duron, Maria Luisa Gonzales Soto, Lydia Duron Herrera, Fidel Duron, Sr., Raul Duron, Enrique Duron, and Ruben Duron, Sr.
Antonio was drafted into the military in 1958 and proudly served in the U.S. Army Lt Weapons Infantry Division as a Rifleman overseas in Germany. Upon discharge in 1960, he continued to serve for an additional 4 years in the U.S. Army National Guard Reserves.
Visitation will be held at Good Shepherd Funeral Home on Tuesday, February 7, 2023, from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM, then will resume on Wednesday, February 8, 2023, from 9:00 AM until 9:00 PM with the holy rosary to be prayed at 7:00 PM by Deacon Catarino Villanueva. Funeral Service will be held Thursday, February 9, 2023, at 10:00 AM at Good Shepherd Funeral Home with Msgr. Pedro Briseno presiding. Interment with military honors will follow at Raymondville Memorial Park Cemetery.
Honored to serve as pallbearers are Antonio Duron III, Jose Duron, Fidel Duron Jr., Arturo Castillo, Samuel Loya, and Jorge Ibarra.
