On August 8th, 2022, Carlos Alberto Garcia succumbed to his long battle with his health issues and returned to heaven. Born on March 28, 1957, in Miami Florida to Carlos S and Bertha Garcia, he was the 2nd child of 12.
If you knew my father, then you knew that he cared. He took his role as eldest son and big brother to heart and made sure that his family came first. As a young man, when he was working side by side with his brothers and noticed that one of them was getting tired, he would make sure that they got an easier job so that they could rest and finish the day. He continued to make sure his family was taken care of throughout his entire life. After marrying his childhood sweetheart in 1975, he enlisted in the United States Army where he would earn the rank of Sargent and be Honorably Discharged in 1981 as a communications expert. He returned to his hometown of Raymondville where he raised his 3 children. He was a dedicated “True Blue” technician for GTE / Verizon for 30 years. Carlos has maintained a close group of friends since childhood and loved them as family. His favorite pastime was to go fishing with his family and friends. The passing of Carlos will leave an emptiness for everyone he knew that cannot be filled. We thank God for the short time he gave us with him and know that this is not goodbye but until we meet again.
He is survived by his mother, Bertha V. Garcia, wife, Mary Garcia, sons, Carlos (Veronica) Garcia and Alberto Lara, daughter, Elisa Garcia, brothers, Edward, Rudy, Rene, Dan (Nora), and Hector (Angie), sisters, Norma (Raul), Nelda (Robert), Noelia (Cecilio), Noemi (Daniel), and Nina, and grandchild, Kayla V. Garcia. Carlos is preceded in death by his father, Carlos S. Garcia, and brother, Ricardo Garcia.
Visitation will begin on Wednesday, August 10, 2022, from 2:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. then will resume on Thursday, August 11, 2022, from 9:00 A.M. until 9:00 P.M with rosaries both nights at 7:00 P.M. at Good Shepherd Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held on Friday, August 12, 2022, at 10:00 A.M. at Our Lady of Guadalupe with interment followed to his final place of rest at Raymondville Memorial Park Cemetery.
Honored to serve as pallbearers will be Dan Garcia, Rudy Garcia, Hector Garcia, Samuel Castaneda, Tommy Castaneda, Ricky Garcia, Cecilio Garza, and Robert Cruz.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the caring hands of Good Shepherd Funeral Home, 1157 W. Hidalgo Ave., Raymondville, Texas 78580.
