The family of Carmel Huerta Longoria is deeply saddened to announce her passing on February 22, 2026. Born on July 16, 1941, in Raymondville, Texas to Rubin Huerta and Juanita Rodriguez Huerta.
Carmel lived a full and remarkable life. She touched the hearts of everyone she met and lived a life filled with laughter, generosity, and love for her family and friends.
She is survived by her daughter and three sons: Josephina Nolder (Dean), Martin Longoria (Rachel), Jose Luis Longoria, Rolando Longoria (Debbie), her two sisters: Anna Pickett and Janie Kluesner, her seven grandchildren: Katie, Kayla, Thalia, Orlando, Louie, Victoria, Tarah, her great grandchildren: Aubrey and Sebastian, along with her many cherished friends and family.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Luis Gonzalez Longoria, and her brothers and sisters: Maria, Pablo, Jose Trinidad, Hector Enrique, Elvira, Olga.
Honored to serve as pallbearers are Juan Pablo Cantu, Marco Antonio Cantu, Gabriel Ruiz, Adrian Lopez, Orlando Longoria, Nelson Barron and Ignacio Gomez III.
Viewing will be held on Thursday, February 26, 2026, from 10 a.m. until 9 p.m. with a holy rosary at 7 p.m. at Good Shepherd Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, February 27, 2026, at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. All services will conclude at that time.
