Carmela Rodriguez

Carmela Rodriguez, 82, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, April 13, 2022, at her residence in San Antonio, Texas. She was born on June 3, 1939, in Raymondville, Texas to Wenceslao Rodriguez and Carmela Espinoza Rodriguez.

Carmela was survived by her sons, Elias (Janice) Gomez Jr. of Hawaii, Jonathan Gomez of San Antonio, and Mark Gomez of San Antonio, daughters, Marie de Carmen Gomez of California, Melanie (Ruben Sr.) Garcia of San Antonio, and Eunis Cordova of Harlingen, brother, Wence (Gloria) Rodriguez of Raymondville, sisters, Clemen Rodriguez of San Antonio, Coty Anderson of Plano, and Christina (Manuel) Caldera of Raymondville, 15 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, and 7 great great grandchildren. Carmela is preceded in death by her parents, Wenceslao and Carmela Rodriguez, daughter, Sally Cecilia Gomez, sister, Christela R. Chapa, and brothers, Wiffy Rodriguez and Wally Rodriguez.

Viewing will be held on Friday, April 22, 2022, from 4:30 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. with a prayer service at 6:00 P.M. at Good Shepherd Funeral Home. A chapel service will be held on Saturday, April 23, 2022, at 9:00 A.M. at Good Shepherd Funeral Home. A funeral procession will follow to her final place of rest at the W&C Ranch.

Honored to serve as pallbearers will be Aaron Garcia, Zachary Cordova, Ruben Garcia Jr., Daniel Rodriguez, Isaiah Gloria, Christian Sosa, and Eric Rodriguez.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her name to the VFW Auxiliary Post 6719, 638 W. White Ave., Raymondville, Texas 78580.
