Carmen B. De La Paz, 88, of Lyford, Texas, gained her angel wings on Saturday, December 30, 2023, in Harlingen, Texas. She was born on March 5, 1935, in Raymondville, Texas to Benjamin Barrera and Angelita Solis.
She is survived by her daughters, Alicia (Jose Luis) De La Paz, Linda Garcia, and Emma (Jose Jr.) Quintanilla, her grandchildren, Omar Martinez, Robert Martinez, Ruby Martinez, Veronica Esquibel, Larissa Garcia, Alysabeth Lopez, Orlando Quintanilla, Richard Quintanilla, and Amanda Ramirez, her 13 great grandchildren, and her 17 great great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by Ruben De La Paz, Juan Bernal, and her grandson, Jose Luis Martinez Jr.
A viewing will be held on Wednesday, January 3, 2024, from 2 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. with a holy rosary at 7:00 P.M. at Good Shepherd Funeral Home. A funeral mass will be held on Thursday, January 4, 2024, at 10:00 A.M. at Our lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Interment will follow to her final place of rest at the Raymondville Memorial Park Cemetery.
Honored to serve as pallbearers are Orlando Quintanilla, Richard Quintanilla, Omar Martinez, Robert Martinez, Armin Martinez, and Oscar Esquibel.
