Catarino Rodriguez III, 62, entered into eternal rest peacefully surrounded by his loving family in Lyford, TX. He was born on April 9, 1964, in Mercedes, TX., to Catarino Rodriguez II and Angelina Oviedo Rodriguez.
He was a man who found joy in life’s simple pleasures. He loved reading, spending time working with farm animals, and embracing the peaceful rhythm of country life. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting and treasured the beauty of nature. Music was a constant source of happiness, and some of his favorite memories were attending concerts with his beloved wife, dancing together and making lasting memories. He also had a passion for cooking and was known for his delicious BBQ, which brought family and friends together around the table. His warmth, love for the outdoors, and appreciation for the simple things in life will be remembered by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his loving wife, Nelda Mendoza Rodriguez his sons, Phillip Anthony Rodriguez (Christina), John David Rodriguez (Dominique), and Santos Alberto Castillo (Ellie), daughters, Laura Karin Rodriguez, and Celia Alejandra Tran (Kevin), his parents, Catarino Rodriguez II, and Angelina Oviedo, his brothers, Jaime Rodriguez (Yvonne), and Jose Ismael Rodriguez (Jolynn), his sisters, Norma De La Cruz (Ricardo), Mary Alice Rodriguez Alvarado, and Cristina Cisneros (Jose), 9 grandchildren, and numerous niece and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his brother, Ismael Rodriguez.
Honored to serve as pallbearers are John David Rodriguez, Phillip Anthony Rodriguez, Santos Alberto Castillo, Dante Guerrero, Evan Guerrero, and Jaime Rodriguez.
Viewing will be held on Sunday, June 14, from 1 p.m. until 9 p.m. with a holy rosary at 7 p.m. at Good Shepherd Funeral Home. Funeral mass will be held on Monday, June 15, 2026, at 10 a.m. at Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Lyford. Interment will follow to his final place of rest at the Lyford Evergreen Cemetery.
