Obituary

Clara T. Flores, 92, returned to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 15, 2022, following several difficult months of loss and health issues.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Willie G. Flores Jr.; her parents, Fidel and Felicitas Tamez; and her siblings, Herminia Tamez Silva, Elisa Tamez Garza, Henry Tamez, Andres Tamez, Delia Tamez Fonseca, Fidel R. Tamez, Maria Tamez Perez, Daniel Tamez, Nieves de la Rosa Tamez, and Ernesto Tamez. She leaves behind her three siblings, Cleo Tamez, Samuel Tamez, and Ramiro Tamez; her three children, Lizzie (Andrew) Perales, Gloria (Sam) Sterling, and Willie (Angie) Flores; her grandchildren, Raymond (Faly) Perales, Rani (Domingo) Lugo, Robert (Tanya) Perales, Gabriel Vazquez, Ashley (Eddie) Rivas, Chuckie (Brenda) Villarreal, and Dylan Flores; over one dozen great- grandchildren; and two great-great-granddaughters.

A woman of many talents, Clara spent many of early years helping to raise her younger siblings and many nieces and nephews. After marrying her husband Willie, they lived together, with their children, on the Norias Division of the King Ranch, where they both worked for many years. After retirement, they moved to Clara’s family land in Lasara, TX where she worked for Lasara I.S.D for several years. After the death of her husband in 1998, she lived out the rest of her life watching over her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, hosting countless family gatherings, and waiting to be reunited with her husband. She was a woman of quick wit, irrefutable resolve, and unquestionable love. Clara was a lifelong member of Bethel United Methodist Church in Raymondville, TX and held her Christian faith very near to heart.
