Daniel Contreras, 79, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, October 1, 2024, in Mission, Texas. He was born on April 9, 1945, in Mexico to Maria Elena Galvez and Martin Contreras.

He is survived by his loving wife, Maria Reyes Salazar Contreras, his sons, Carlos Contreras and Jose Daniel Contreras, his sons-in-law, Juan Jose Vasquez and Pedro Perez, his daughters, Maria Enedina Contreras and Maria Teresa Contreras, his daughters-in-laws, Maria H Contreras and Dolores Contreras, by his brothers, Cipriano Contreras Galvez, his sisters, Maria Juventina Contreras Galvez and Maria Elena Contreras Galvez, his grandchildren, Carlos Contreras Jr., Alexis Contreras, Eduardo Contreras, Camila Contreras, Daniela Contreras, Mariana Contreras, Kristal Contreras, Daniel Contreras, Juan Vazquez, Jovani Vazquez, Jonathan Vazquez, Alondra Vazquez, Oscar Ruiz, Lizbeth Ruiz, Blanca Ruiz, Esmeralda Perez, and Pedro Perez, and by his great grandchildren, Oscar Ruiz Jr., Osmar Ruiz, Omar Ruiz, Oliver Daniel Trujillo, and Fernando Trujillo.

He is preceded in death by his parents Martin and Maria Elena Galvez Contreras, and by his brother, Manuel Contreras Galvez.  

Viewing will be held on Thursday, October 3, 2024, from 10 a.m. until 9 p.m. with a holy rosary at 7 p.m. at Good Shepherd Funeral Home. Funeral mass will be held on Friday, October 4, 2024, at 1 p.m. at St. Patricks’ Catholic Church in Lasara, TX. Interment followed to his final place of rest at the Lasara Cemetery.
