David G. Lerma

David G. Lerma, 70, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, December 18, 2021, surrounded by his loving family at his residence in Harlingen, TX. He was born on June 20, 1951, in Raymondville, TX to David E. Lerma and Esther Garcia.

Throughout his life, David, enjoyed fishing, bike riding, gardening, teaching, collecting rocks and was an awesome journal keeper. He also devoted time to his family, his children, his grandchildren, and he especially enjoyed watching them play sports. David also took pleasure in the outdoors such as making fires, the beach and swimming, and his love for cattle. He was also a big Dallas Cowboy fan.

He is preceded in death by his parents, David and Esther Lerma. He is survived by his loving wife, Santos B. Lerma, sons, David Jaime Lerma and Daniel Derek (Claudia) Lerma, daughter, Veronica Y. (Gilbert) Lerma, brothers, Arnulfo (Diana) Lerma, Enrique (Ana) Lerma and Ruben Lerma, sister, Nora (Roy) Garcia, and grandchildren, Victoria Daniella Vela, Ashlee Nicole Vela and Jake Ryan Vela. He will be missed by his beloved grand-fur babies, his dogs, Pops and Hazel May.

Viewing was held on Monday, December 20, 2021, from 12:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. with a rosary at 7:00 P.M. at Good Shepherd Funeral Home. A funeral mass was on Tuesday, December 21, 2021, at 11:00 A.M. at Prince of Peace Church.

Pallbearers: Joel Benavidez, Frank Trevino, Felix Trevino, Cruz Gonzales, Jr., Eddie Rodriguez and Steven Gonzales

Honorary Pallbearers: Jake Ryan Vela and David Enrique Lerma
