It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Eliseo Rodriguez, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, who left this world on December 7, 2025, at the age of 85. Born on February 14, 1940, Eliseo was a man of intense passions and a profound love for life, his family, and nature. He was widely recognized in Lasara as “the man who jogged.”
Eliseo was known for his love of the great outdoors, spending countless serene hours fishing and tending to his beautiful garden. His dedication to nature was rivaled only by his passion for baseball, a sport he cherished both as a player in his youth through his 60s and an avid spectator throughout his life.
Eliseo leaves behind his devoted wife, Irene Rodriguez, with whom he shared a life filled with love and laughter. He was a proud and loving father to his children: daughter Elizabeth Rodriguez and sons Dagoberto (Tammy), Sergio Arturo (Illiana), Eliseo (Alva), Javier (Sandra) and Hector (Lorena). His legacy also lives on through his siblings, Nicolasa Rodriguez, Edmundo Rodriguez, and Mario Rodriguez.
Eliseo's life was further enriched by his grandchildren: Rachel Flores (Gerson), Jeanette Mijares (Adrian), Michael Rodriguez (Carolina), Josue Daniel Rodriguez (Meredith), Jessica Rodriguez, Gabriella Treviño, Alejandro Rodriguez, Alexa Rodriguez, Adrian Rodriguez (Larissa), Benjamin Rodriguez (Samantha), Eliseo Ivan Rodriguez, David Rodriguez, and Mia Rae Rodriguez. He was also blessed with great-grandchildren Azariah Flores, Emilia Mijares, Adrian Tadeo Rodríguez, Evelyn Rodriguez, and Jared Mijares, who brought him endless joy and pride.
Eliseo is preceded in death by parents Santos and Rosaura Garza Rodriguez, brothers Luis, Heriberto, and Manuel.
In his later years, Eliseo found companionship in his loyal furry friend, Checkers, who remained by his side, providing comfort and warmth.
Eliseo's life was a testament to the power of love, dedication, and the simple joys of nature. His warm spirit and gentle smile will be fondly remembered and deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. May his soul rest in peace, and may his family find comfort in the memories they shared with him.
