Encarnacion Rivera Jr.

Encarnacion Rivera Jr., 79, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, June 15, 2023, surrounded by his loving family in Edinburg, TX. He was born on February 6, 1944, in Hebbronville, TX, to Encarnacion Rivera Sr. and Francisca Gomez.  

He is survived by his loving wife, Maria Elena Rivera, his sons: Rolando Rivera, Encarnacion Rivera III, and Justino G. Rivera, and daughter, Annette Marie Rivera, his brother, Oscar (Elva +) G. Rivera and his grandson, Axton Dime Rivera and numerous nieces and nephews.  He is preceded in death by his parents, Encarnacion Rivera Sr., and Francisca Gomez Rivera, his nephew, Genaro Z. Rivera Jr., his brothers: Felix Rivera, Genaro (Elvia +) G. Rivera Sr., Jose (Guadalupe +) G. Rivera Sr., Hilario (Ninfa +) G. Rivera Sr. and Rolando Rivera, and his sisters: Guadalupe (Domingo +) Villa, Maria (Ernesto Sr. +) Rios, Odilia Rivera, Anselma Rivera, Francisca “Poche” Rivera, Pilar Rivera and Francisca Rivera. 

Honored to serve as pallbearers are Rolando Rivera, Encarnacion Rivera III, Justino G. Rivera, Rick Olivarez, Javier Rivera, Jose Rivera Jr., Oscar Rivera Jr., Marco D. Rivera. Honorary pallbearers are Ernesto Rios Jr., and Hilario Rivera Jr.

A viewing was held on Saturday, June 17 from 10:00 A.M. until 9:00 P.M. and resumed on Sunday, June 18 from 1:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. with a rosary at 7:00 P.M. at Good Shepherd Funeral Home. A funeral mass was held on Monday, June 19 at 10:00 A.M. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with the interment which followed to The Raymondville Memorial Park Cemetery.
