Ernesto Guzman, 72, entered into eternal rest surrounded by his loving family, February 13, 2022, at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Harlingen, TX. He was born on July 12, 1949, in Raymondville, Texas to Porfirio Guzman and Julia Villarreal Guzman.
He served in the United States Navy from 1969 until 1973. He married his wife of 45 years on August 20, 1974. He enjoyed his time watching sports with his loved ones. He was a big Dallas Cowboys fan.
He is survived by his son, Leon Guzman (April), daughters, Ursula Ramirez (Santiago), and Lorena Alvarenga (Victor), brothers, Juan Ramon Guzman (Mela), Porfirio Guzman Jr. (Juanita), and Jose Guzman (Marina), sisters, Teresa Thompson (Harvey+) and Maria Smith, grandchildren, Crystal, Alexandrea, Jimmy Jr., Julianna, Julian, Valeria, Bernabe Jr., Angel, and Leon Jr. “L J”, great grandchildren, Godric, Draven, Serenity, and Nicholas Jr. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, Maria “Lanchie” Guzman, brother, Mingo Guzman, and sisters, Antonia Caballero, Lupita Medina, Estela Caballero, Elvira Martinez, and Leticia Cruz Petty.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 15, 2022, from 1:00 P.M. till 9:00 P.M. with a rosary at 7:00 P.M. at Good Shepherd Funeral Home. Chapel service will be on Wednesday, February 16, 2022, at 10:00 A.M. at Good Shepherd Funeral Home, with a funeral procession to his final place of rest to the Raymondville Memorial Park Cemetery.
Honored to serve as pallbearers are Julian Guerrero, Jimmy Ramirez Jr., LJ Guzman, Sal Guerra Jr., Nick Barrientes, and Fernando Cabrera. Honorary pallbearers are Bernabe Jr., Angel, Godric, Draven, and Nicholas Jr.
