Eugenio "Gene" Reyes

Eugenio “Gene” Reyes, 61, passed away on April 15, 2025. He was born in Raymondville, TX., on December 16, 1963, to his parents, Andres and Olivia Reyes.

He worked as a banker for over 35 years in numerous banks throughout the valley. His favorite hobbies included fishing, working on cars, gardening, barbecues, racing his Corvette, and most of all, his love for his children and grandchildren.

Gene leaves to cherish his memory his daughters Angela (Tony) Tijerina, Alyssa (Matthew) Nieto, and Annalise Reyes, sons, Eugenio “Gene” (Annie) Reyes Jr., his brother, Abel (Debi) Reyes, Diana V. Reyes, his grandchildren, Andrew J. Pedraza, Madison A. Tijerina, Mackenzie A. Tijerina, Olivianna B. Nieto, Aubrianna M. Nieto, his nieces, Amaryllis Annalese Reyes, Abriella Dahlia Reyes and nephew, Steven Quintanilla.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Andres & Olivia Reyes, and his brother, Andres Reyes Jr.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are, Eugenio “Gene” Reyes Jr, Tony Tijerina, Matthew Nieto, Abel Reyes, and Alfonso Villarreal Jr.

Viewing will be held on Monday, April 21, 2025, from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a holy rosary at 7 p.m. at Good Shepherd Funeral Home. Funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Interment will follow to his final place of rest at the Raymondville Memorial Park Cemetery.
