Our beloved mother, Felipa M. Tovar, gained her beautiful angel wings on Sunday, July 10, 2022, at the age of 86. She was born on August 22, 1935, in San Perlita, Texas to Brigida Rodriguez Martinez and Martin Martinez.
Felipa had a love for gardening, singing, and dancing, but had a greater love for her grandchildren, who were the twinkle in her eyes. She loved everyone unconditionally and made friends with anyone that crossed her path. Her gentle kind soul was giving and loving, which is why everyone adored her. Our mother leaves behind a legacy of strong family values, strong Catholic faith, and unity. She was one of a kind and we will miss her, but know that we will see her again one day.
She is survived by her sons, Juan Tovar, Joe (Sally) Tovar, Marty Tovar, Patrick Tovar, and Robert Tovar, daughters, Janie (Joe) Munguia, Estela (Johnny+) Beserra, Ernestina (Dean) Wagonner, Melba (Roland) Rodriguez, and Norma Tovar, brother, Rodrigo Martinez, 26 grandchildren, 46 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild. She is preceded in death by her husband, Esteban Tovar Sr., son, Esteban Tovar Jr., daughter, San Juanita Tovar, parents, Martin and Brigida Martinez, sisters, Maria Banda, Teodora Ocanaz, and Cristina Aguilar, and brother, Geronimo Martinez.
