Frank R. Sustayta, 76, of Lyford, TX., entered into eternal rest on Monday, May 25, 2026, at Valley Baptist Medical Center, Harlingen, TX. He passed peacefully, surrounded by his loved ones. He was born on March 21, 1950, in Bryan, TX., to Herman and Paula Sustayta.
Franks was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force. Where he served as a Sergeant (SGT.) Electronic Communications and Crypto-Graphic Equipment Systems Repairman.
Frank will be remembered for his love of sports, whether it was cheering on the Aggies on Saturdays or the Cowboys on Sundays. He was a devoted father and grandfather who dedicated his life to providing love, laughter and support to all his children and grandchildren. His unwavering commitment to family defined him, and his memory will forever be cherished by all those who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Enedelia R. Sustayta, his five children, Valerie Perez (Hector), Lou Ann Marin (Felipe), Hilario Greigo (Lily), Victoria Dwyer (James), and Joseph Sustayta (April), 12 grandchildren, and three great grandchildren. He is also survived by his brothers, Herman (Chema) and Bob (Lucy), and his sisters, Rose (Kevin) and Patty (Bernie Sr.), as well as several nieces and nephews.
Frank was preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Paula Sustayta, his brothers, Jesse, Marty, and Alonzo and his sister, Angie.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, May 31, 2026, from 3 p.m. until 9 p.m. with a holy rosary at 7 p.m. at Good Shepherd Funeral Home. Funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m. at Prince of peace Catholic Church in Lyford. Interment will follow to the Rio Grande State Veterans Cemetery at 2 p.m. in Mission, Tx., where he will receive his full military honors.
