Guadalupe (Lara) Chapa

Guadalupe L. Chapa, 93, entered into eternal rest on Friday, December 19, 2025, in Edinburg, TX. She was born on December 10, 1932, to Cirilo Lara and Maria Lourdes Martinez.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Guadalupe M. Chapa, her daughters, Norma Perez (Mario Perez), and Vina Dawn Chapa, her parents, Cirilo Lara and Maria Lourdas Martinez, her brothers, Pedro Lara and Margarito Lara (Lydia Lara), her sister, Claudia Lara, and by her grandson, Isaac Barba.

She is survived by her sons, Richard Chapa (Melba S. Chapa +), Mario L. Chapa, and Roland Chapa (Sabas G. Chapa), her daughters Dora L. Chapa Guajardo (Roel Guajardo), Norma C. Perez + (Mario Perez), Irene Garcia (Ricardo Garcia +), her sisters, Maxine Lara and Francisca Lara Hernandez (Roberto Hernandez +), her 15 grandchildren, her 29 great grandchildren, and by her 3 great-great grandchildren.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are Mario Perez Jr., Leroy Guajardo, Gabriel Perez, Abel Perez, JR Chapa, Ricky Garcia, and Lucky Chapa.

Guadalupe Chapa was a loving, hardworking mother whose strength, kindness, and devotion to her family will never be forgotten. Her life was a testament to God’s grace. She will be missed by all who adored her.

Viewing will be held on Friday, December 26, 2025, from 12 p.m. until 9 p.m. with a Holy Rosary at 7 p.m. at Good Shepherd Funeral Home. Funeral mass will be held on Saturday, December 27, 2025, at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Interment will follow to her final place of rest next to her beloved husband, at the Raymondville Memorial Park Cemetery.
