Guadalupe M. Tamez, 92, entered into eternal rest on Monday, June 5, 2023, in Raymondville, TX. She was born on February 22, 1931, in Robstown to Baudillo and Josefa Marroquin.
She is survived by her sons: Albert (Celica) Tamez, Fidel (Billie) Tamez, and Michael (Annette) Tamez, her daughters: Adela (Pedro+) Zamarripas, Cookie (Ruben) Lopez, Johnnie Tamez, Becky (Lee) Stevens, Stella (Ed) Ortiz, Irma (Rudy+) Gonzalez, Maggie (Joe) Mendiola and Sandy (Wayland) Scott. She is also survived by her grandchildren; Diana Friend, Carlos Tamez, Rick Tamez, Rene Ortiz, Anissa Gutierrez, Valerie Tamez, Miranda Tamez, Omar Tamez, Adrian Tamez, Pamela Long, Butch Michael Tamez, Alysha Ray Uribe, Ruben Jaime Lopez, Joe Michael Lopez, Laura Rebone, Jennifer Cockrell, Amy McMurren, Brian Herron, Amanda Tamez, Armando Fernandez, Cassandra, Sierra Tounsley, Thomas Gonzales, Jacob Gonzales, Justin Ram Sanchez, Stacey Lizette Tovar, Savannah Sanchez, Tabytha Jade Tamez, Alistair Tamez, Josiah Tamez, Alyzeah Tamez, and Zander Tamez, 44 great grandchildren, and 4 great great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her late husband Fidel R. Tamez. Her parents, Baudillo and Josepha Marroquin, her sons: Henry Tamez, Israel Tamez, and Oscar Tamez, her granddaughters Sylvia Tamez, Angie Grimaldo and her grandson Pete Zamarripas Jr.
A viewing was held on Wednesday, June 7, 2023, at Good Shepherd Funeral Home from 10 A.M. to 9 P.M. with a prayer service at 7 P.M. Funeral Service was held at Good Shepherd Funeral Home Thursday, June 8, 2023, at 2 P.M. A funeral procession followed to her final place of rest at the Lasara Cemetery.
Proud to serve as pallbearers are Dillon Friend, Rick Tamez, Butch Michael Tamez, Justin Sanchez, Skylore Jones, Alistair Tamez, and Honorary Pallbearers are Shawn Ramos and Steve Tovar.
