Higinio Esteban "Steve" Gonzales

Higinio E. Gonzales, 63, entered into eternal rest on Friday, March 8, 2024, in Harlingen, TX.  He was born on July 9, 1960, in Raymondville, to Cruz Gonzales and Virginia Lerma and was raised by Maria De Jesus (Nene) Rodriguez.

He is survived by his loving wife Rosalinda Gonzales, his sons, Stevie (Cindy) Gonzales, Orlando (Veronica) Gonzales, Diego (Araceli) Gonzales, his brother, Cruz (Ruby) Gonzales Jr., his sisters, Melissa “Missy” (Roy) Gonzales Rosas, Adela (James) Gonzales White, nephews, Omar and Rick Gonzales, nieces, Hallie and Katie, and his grandchildren: Isabella Rose Gonzales, Nicolas Guajardo, and Adalyn Guajardo.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Cruz Gonzales and Virginia Lerma, Maria De Jesus Rodriguez, his niece, Elise Gonzales, and nephew, Case Gonzales.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are Steve Gonzales, Orlando Gonzales, Diego Gonzales, Omar Gonzales, Enrique Gonzales, and Eduardo Leal. Honorary pallbearers are Cruz Gonzales Jr., David Leal, Nicolas Guajardo, Daryl Gonzales, Victor Hernandez and Deigo Ramirez.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, March 12, 2024, from 1 P.M. until 9 P.M. with a holy rosary at 7 P.M. at Good Shepherd Funeral Home. A funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, March 13, 2024, at 10:30 A.M. at Prince of Peace Catholic church in Lyford. Interment will follow to his final place of rest at Lyford Guadalupe Cemetery.
