Jacinto Mendoza, 70, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, February 29, 2024, in Lyford, Texas. He was born on August 17, 1953, in Raymondville, Texas, to Modesto Mendoza and Austolia Martinez.
After 36 years of employment with the Willacy County precinct 3, the county of Willacy honored him with a flag flown over the Texas Capital by Senator Eddie Lucio, Jr. & Former Rep. Eddie Lucio III. Which allowed, April 27th, to be proclaimed as Jacinto Mendoza Day.
He is survived by his loving wife, Estefana Esparza Mendoza, his sons, Joey Mendoza, Lionel Esparza Mendoza, and Jacinto Mendoza Jr., his daughters, Victoria Mendoza Garcia, Amy Mendoza Briones, and Josie Mendoza Acosta, his brothers, Ricardo Mendoza, Rudy Mendoza, and Raul Mendoza, his sister, Janie Ambriz, his grandchildren, Sarah Salazar, Joshua Mendoza, Derek Mendoza, Alyssa Mendoza, Tristen Garcia, Devon Mendoza, Haylie Garcia, Dareane Briones, and Jordan Acosta, his great grandchildren, Isabella Salazar, Jameson Garcia, Oziel Gallegos, Beau Garcia, Keith Cabrera, Weston Medina, and Baby Girl Mendoza.
Honored to serve as pallbearers are Joshua Mendoza, Derek Mendoza, Joaquin Medina, Tristen Garcia, Devon Mendoza, Israel Cabrera and honorary pallbearer, Dareane Jacinto Briones.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 5, 2024, from 12 p.m. until 9 p.m., with a holy rosary at 7 p.m. at Good Shepherd Funeral Home. A funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, March 6, 2024, at 2 p.m. at Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Lyford, Texas. Interment will follow to his final resting place at the Lyford Guadalupe Cemetery.
