John Edward Delgado, Jr.

John Edward Delgado Jr passed away on October 19, 2022, at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Harlingen, Texas.  He was born on December 3, 2019, to John Edward Sr and Sarah Delgado. 

“Baby Eddie”/” Gordo”, as he was affectionally nicknamed, was an energetic, adventurous, big-hearted country boy.  He loved his big sister Emma so much; he would wake up and go to her room and sit on her bed waiting for her to wake up every morning.  Baby Eddie had many partners in crime, spending the day/evenings playing or chasing his dog-buddy Dax, Oreo the goat, his 9 chickens and 1 rooster. His chickens gave him plenty of eggs that were shared with his extended family and neighbors.  He blessed all those around him with many laughs and memories because of his big boy attitude

He is preceded in death by maternal great-grandparents Francisco and Antonia C. Hernandez; paternal great-grandparents Maria Delgado and Leonardo Esparza Jr.

John Edward Jr is survived by his parents, Eddie and Sarah and sister Emmalyn; maternal grandparents Victoria Hernandez and Remigio Quilantan; paternal grandparents Joe Roy Delgado Sr and Leah Jean Delgado; paternal great grandmother Maria Esparza; aunt Barbara Jean (Hector) Guereca; uncles Joe Roy Delgado Jr, Mark Anthony Delgado, and Andrew James Delgado; Godparents Daniel and Criselda Gomez along with numerous great-aunts/uncles and cousins that loved their Baby Eddie so much.

The viewing will be on Tuesday, October 25, 2022, at Good Shepherd Funeral Home in Raymondville, Texas with a Holy Rosary at 7 pm.  The funeral mass will held on Wednesday, October 26, 2022, at 2 pm at St Patrick’s Church in Lasara, with burial services to follow at Lasara Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers: Joe Roy Delgado Jr, Mark Anthony Delgado, Andrew James Delgado, and Guillermo Hernandez Jr.
