Jose Raul Alvarez

Jose Raul Alvarez Sr., 91, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, October 12, 2025, in Raymondville, Texas. Jose was born in Raymondville, Texas, on December 13, 1933, to Primitivo and Estefana Rodriguez Alvarez. 

He is survived by sons, Jose Raul Alvarez Jr., Ruben Alvarez (Martina), and Rodolfo Alvarez (Marivel), his daughters, Alicia Gonzales (+Tomas) and Leticia Garcia (Rigo), 10 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild.

He is preceded in death by, his wife of 65 years, Teresa Gonzales Alvarez, his parents, Primitivo and Estefana Alvarez, and his daughter, Lupita Alvarez.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are Raul T. Alvarez, Efran Zamorano Jr., Noe Zambrano Jr., Thomas Zambrano, Anthony “Pika” Nieto, and Efran Zamorano. Honorary Pallbearer is great-great grandson, Thomas Zambrano Jr.

Viewing will be held on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, from 1 p.m. until 9 p.m. with a Holy Rosary at 7 p.m. at Good Shepherd Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, October 16, 2025, at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Interment will follow to his final place of rest at the Raymondville Memorial Park Cemetery, where he will receive his full Military Honors.
