Jose Cesar Hernandez

Cesar went to the Classic Car Show in Heaven Friday, July 8, 2022. He was born in Raymondville to Dolores Chavez and Carlos Hernandez.

A veteran of Vietnam, he served 20 years in the US Army. After retiring, he earned an associate's degree in Funeral Service at Dallas Institute of Funeral Service and opened Hernandez Funeral Home where he was the owner and funeral director in charge for 25 years. Many would agree no one provided a better funeral service.

He enjoyed traveling the world and flying his Cessna, but his favorite hobby was restoring classic cars and adding them to his prize collection. He will be missed by all.

He was preceded in death by his parents Carlos & Dolores, his sister Maria Garcia, and brothers Hector, Victor, and Alfredo Hernandez. He is survived by his sisters Virginia, Paula, Elva, and Gloria and his brothers Carlos Jr, Noe, and Arturo, his daughters Hilda Dyanne, Heidi Darlynda, and Brittney Arlyn, grandchildren Haide, Cesar, Justin, and Giovanni, and 3 great-grandchildren.

He was buried with military honors at Rio Grande Valley State Veterans Cemetery in Mission, Texas on Friday, July 15, 2022, at 10:00 A.M. under the direction of Good Shepherd Funeral Home.
