Jovita Delgado, 93, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, April 18, 2023, in Lyford, Texas. Jovita was born February 20, 1930, in Lyford to Juan De La Cruz and Guadalupe Castillo.
Jovita is survived by her sons; Humberto (Nora) Delgado, and Hector Delgado, daughters; Francisca (Ezequiel) Moralez, Rachel (Lucio) Esparza, Maria (Richard) Aparicio, and Ida (Julio) Gamez. She is also survived by 29 grandchildren, 70 great-grandchildren, and 50 great-great-grandchildren. Jovita is preceded in death by her husband Francisco Delgado, parents, Juan De La Cruz and Guadalupe Castillo, her son Jose Luis Delgado and her daughter Enriqueta Zamora, brothers Uvaldo, Juan, Guadalupe, and Augustin Rodriguez, and sisters Antonia R. Loya and Concepcion R. Gill.
A viewing will be held on Thursday, April 20, 2023, from 12:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. at Good Shepherd Funeral Home with a prayer service beginning at 7:00 P.M. A funeral service will be held on Friday, April 21, 2023, at 11:00 A.M. at Good Shepherd Funeral Home. A funeral procession followed to her final resting place at Lyford Evergreen Cemetery.
Honored to serve as pallbearers are Isaia Gamez, John Mark Moralez, Bobby Delgado, Ramiro Ruelas Jr., Lucio Esparza III, and Kevin Delgado.
