Juan Bustos, 55, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, November 21, 2021, at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Harlingen, Texas. He was born on April 28, 1966, in Mexico to Ignacio Bustos and Gregoria Cabrerra Bustos.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Ignacio Bustos and Gregoria Cabrerra Bustos. Juan is survived by his loving wife, Melba Sonia Bustos, his son, Mason Johneil Bustos, his daughters, Mallorie Jannelle Bustos, Madeline Justine Bustos, and Malynnae Jennisse Bustos, and his grandchildren, Marekson Jeffery McGuire and Makenna Grace Garcia.
Juan grew up in Raymondville, Texas and graduated from Raymondville High School in 1987. He then attended college at Texas Tech University. On September 1st of 1990, in the presence of family and friends, he married his loving sweetheart Melba S. Gonzales at St. Anne’s Catholic Church in San Perlita, Texas. Juan lived a full life, priding himself as a family man, continuously celebrating the milestones and achievements of his wife, children, and grandchildren. Juan loved music, enjoying most genres, especially Tejano, Spanish, and Rock. He enjoyed watching football, basketball, HGTV, the History Channel, and any forensic shows, especially “The First 48 hours.” Not only was he dedicated to the human members of his family, but he was a compassionate animal lover as well, taking extra care intending to family pets, especially his dog Bugsy “Red” Bustos. Juan had a passion for creating things with his hands. He was a talented artist in woodshop, painting, and other mediums. To many, Juan was a man of fewer words. However, each word was always well-chosen. When he spoke, people listened. His creativity, ingenuity, humor, and admirable intellect will be fondly remembered by his family and friends.
Viewing was held Saturday, November 27, 2021, from 9:00 A.M. until 9:00 P.M., and resumed Sunday, November 28, 2021, from 1: 00 PM. until 9:00 P.M with the Holy Rosary both days at 7:00 P.M. at Good Shepherd Funeral Home. A funeral mass was held on Monday, November 29, 2021, at St. Anne’s Catholic church in San Perlita at 11:00 A.M. A funeral procession followed to his final place of rest at the Sebastian Guadalupe Cemetery.
Honored to serve as pallbearers were Mason Bustos, Adrian Garcia, Santiago Gonzales III, Pablo Navarro, Paul Astello, and Xavier Rodriguez.
Honorary pallbearers were Marekson McGuire, and Guillermo Garcia.
Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the caring hands of Good Shepherd Funeral Home, 1157 W. Hidalgo Ave., Raymondville, TX 78580.
