Juan Pablo Chavez Sr., 91, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, May 8, 2022 at Hays Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in San Marcos, Texas. He was born on June 26, 1930 in Mexico to Estanislado Chavez and Maria Moreno Chavez.
He is survived by his sons, Juan P. “Johnny” (Diana) Chavez Jr., David (Amy K.+) Chavez, and Martin (Sonia S.) Chavez, daughters, Maria S. J. Chavez and Sylvia Chavez Diaz, grandchildren, Josue Diaz III, Jacob Diaz, Sara Dolores Chavez, Sophia Gabriella Chavez, Juan P. Chavez III, and Olivia Isabella Chavez, and one great grandchild, Mia Lanae Chavez. He is preceded in death by his wife, Francisca Reyna Chavez, son, Gorge Chavez, father, Estanislado Chavez, mother, Maria Moreno Chavez, brothers, Jose Maria Chavez and Ramon Chavez, and sister, Irene Chavez Hernandez.
Private family viewing will be held on Saturday, May 14, 2022 from 2:00 P.M. until 4:00 P.M. with public viewing from 4:30 P.M. until 7:30 P.M. at Good Shepherd Funeral Home. Viewing resumes on Sunday, May 15, 2022 from 1:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. with a rosary at 7:00 P.M. at Good Shepherd Funeral Home. A funeral mass will be held on Monday, May 16, 2022 at 10:00 A.M. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. A funeral procession will follow to his final place of rest in the Raymondville Memorial Park Cemetery.
Honored to serve as pallbearers will be Juan P. Chavez Jr., David Chavez, Martin Chavez, Josue Diaz III, Andress Arturo Garcia, and Jaime Mata Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be Jacob Diaz and Juan P. Chavez III.
