Juana E. Ruiz, 75, entered into eternal rest on Monday, April 5, 2021 at Houston Medical Hospital in Houston, Texas. She was born on May 15, 1945 in Willacy County to Bruno Cantu and Damacia Lopez Cantu.
She is survived by her daughter: Linda Chairez (Juan Sanchez); sons: Juan Christopher (Cynthia Ann) Torres, Adolfo (Aurora) Cantu, Julio Vidal (Mary Ann) Cantu, James Cantu Torres; brothers: Juan (Anita) Cantu, Jose (Cecilia) Cantu; Sisters: Maria Cantu (Eleazar) Perez, Rosalinda Cantu; Grandchidren: Veronica Quintero, Amanda Lopez, Anthony Lopez, Steven Lopez, Yessenia Lopez, Kurt Lopez, Luis Chairez, Jr., Sara Chairez, Valerie M. Cantu, Adolfo Cantu, Jr., Manuel Cantu, John Cantu, Henry Cantu, Michael Cantu, Gabriel Cantu, and Raphael Cantu: 20 Great Grandchildren: 1 Great Great Grandchild; numerous nephews and nieces. She is preceded in death by parents; brothers: Bruno Cantu, Jr. and Geronimo (Jerry) Cantu; her grandson: Jesus Zenon Lopez, Jr.
Visitation was held on Saturday, April 10, 2021 from 9:00 A.M. to 9:00 P.M. with a Prayer Service at 7:00 P.M. then was continued on Sunday, April 11, 2021 from 1:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M., with recitation of the holy rosary at 7:00 P.M. at the Good Shepherd Funeral Home. A Chapel Service was held on Monday, April 12, 2021, at Good Shepherd Funeral Home at 10:00 A.M. A funeral procession followed to her final place of rest at the Raymondville Memorial Park Cemetery.
Honored to serve as pallbearers were Juan Christopher Torres, Adolfo Cantu, Jr., Julio V. Cantu, James Cantu Torres, Anthony Lopez, and Steven Lopez.
Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the caring hands of Good Shepherd Funeral Home, 1157 W. Hidalgo Ave., Raymondville, TX 78580.
