Juanita (Garcia) Tamez

Juanita G. Tamez, 86, entered into eternal rest on Friday, January 24, 2025, in Weslaco, TX. She was born on October 9, 1938, in Goliad, TX, to Alfredo Garcia and Leandra Guerrero Garcia.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Alfredo Garcia and Leandra Guerrero Garcia, her husband, Ismael Tamez, her grandsons, Little Roy Tamez, and Roel Tamez, her granddaughter, Kayzley Rebeles, and all her brothers and sisters, Trinidad, Daniel, Ernersto, Antonio, Valentin Garcia, Concepcion Flores, Petra Quintanilla, Ines Servin, Eulalia Flores and Sara Garza.

She is survived by her sons, Raul Tamez, from Lasara, TX. and Ismael (Norma) Tamez Jr. from Dallas, TX., her daughters, Rosa E. Moya, from Lasara, TX, Ruth (Martin) Castillo, from Harlingen, TX., Rachel Tamez, from Lasara, TX., and Ruby Jane Tamez also from Lasara, TX., raised, Elva Villareal, Jacob and Jaelen Salinas, 15 grandchildren, and 19 great grandchildren.

Honored to serve as pallbearers Martin Castillo, Benny Barrientos, Rolando Marroquin, Mark Rebeles, Roberto Cortinas Jr., Jaelen Salinas, Jacob Salinas, and Steven M. Klimp.

Visitation will be held on Monday, January 27th, from 12 p.m. until 9 p.m. at Good Shepherd Funeral Home. Visitation will resume on Tuesday, January 28th, from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m., with prayer service at 6 p.m. at Good Shepherd Funeral. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 29th, at 10 a.m. at Good Shepherd Funeral Home. Interment will follow to her final place of rest next to her loving husband at the Lasara Cemetery.
