Juanita “Johnnie” Tamez, 85, of Lasara, TX, passed away peacefully on April 26, 2025, in Raymondville, TX. She was born on March 30, 1940, to the late, Fidel Tamez Jr. and Marina De Los Santos Tamez.

She is survived by her son, John Richard Tamez, her daughter-in-law, Chris Lopez Tamez, her brothers, Albert (Celia) Tamez, Butch (Billie) Tamez, and Michael (Annette) Tamez, her sisters, , Maggie (Joe) Mendiola, Consuelo (Ruben) Lopez, Becky (Lee) Stevens, Sandy (Wayland) Scott, Stella Ortiz, and Irma Gonzalez, her sisters-in-laws, Hilda Tamez, and Lydia Tamez, her grandchildren, Sarah Justine Tamez, Amber Nicole Tamez, Carson Jordan Tamez and Joshua Caleb Tamez, her great grandchild, Kai Angel Coronado, and by numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Fidel Tamez Jr. and Marina De Los Santos Tamez, her stepmother, Lupita M. Tamez, her brothers, Henry Tamez, Israel Tamez and Oscar Tamez, her sister, Adela Zamarripas, her brother-in-laws, Pete Zamarripas, Winnie Ortiz, and Rudy Gonzalez, her nieces, Sylvia Tamez and Angie Ortiz, and her nephew, Pete Zamarripas Jr.

Viewing will be held on Wednesday, April 30, 2025, from 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m., with a prayer service conducted by Robert Perales at 7 p.m. at Good Shepherd Funeral Home. All services will conclude thereafter.
