Julia Colchado Weaver was born on March 29,1946 in Raymondville, Texas to Palmiro and Rosa Colchado. Julia went to be with our lord on January 13, 2022.
Julia was a nurse at Valley Baptist Medical Center in the late 1960’s where she met the love of her life Emilio Weaver Jr. and they married on October 24,1970. Julia loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, siblings and extended family. Julia loved gardening, her daily crossword puzzles, listening to George Strait hour and watching sunrises and sunsets on the beach. Julia was an active member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Lyford and also taught RCIA and was a Eucharistic minister for many years.
Julia is preceded in death by her husband Emilio Weaver Jr., her parents Palmiro and Rosa Colchado and her father-in-law, Emilio Weaver Sr. and mother-in-law, Evila Leal Weaver.
Julia is survived by her 5 children: Teresa, Emilio III, Aaron (Vanessa), Adam Samuel, and Cathy. 8 grandchildren: Caitlin, Gabriel, Martha, Kailey, Lauren, Kale, Noa Olivia, and Riley. 3 brothers: Ramiro (Adelina+) Colchado, Agustin (Corina+) Colchado, and Richard (Rebecca+) Colchado. 4 sisters: Elena (Bob) Ramirez, Rosa (Jose Pepe) Sandoval, Delia (George) Romo, Velia (John) Salinas. And numerous nieces and nephews.
Viewing will be held on Sunday, January 16, 2022 from 1:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. with a Holy rosary recited at 7:00 P.M. at Good Shepherd Funeral Home. A funeral mass will be held on Monday, January 17, 2022 at 10:00 A.M. at Prince of Peace Catholic Church. A funeral procession will follow to her final place of rest next to her beloved husband, Emilio, in the Raymondville Memorial Park Cemetery.
Honored to be her pallbearers are her grandsons: Kale and Gabriel, nephews: Edward Adrian Sandoval, Steve Salinas, John Cisneros, and Rico Ramirez, and cousin: Raymond Dimas.
The family would like to send a special thank you to the NICU nursing team, 4th floor Palliative Care/ Hospice team, and CCU Doctors, Dr. Sy and Dr. Madi and associates at Valley Baptist Medical Center for the wonderful care given to our mother.
