Louise Knox Obituary

Louise Knox, 96, of Raymondville, Texas passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by family on January 31, 2022.  She was married for 73 years to Oran Knox, the man she loved and adored until she drew her last breath.  She always kept his photos nearby and spoke often of special moments they shared together.  She especially loved the poem he wrote her November 12, 1939, shortly before they were married.  It read, “Your eyes are like diamonds, your features are fine.  God bless you little darling, I wish you were mine.”

God and family were the center of her world, and she never lost her focus.  She is survived by her daughter Jean Woods of Corvallis, Oregon, her sons, Virgil Knox & wife Beverly of Spring, TX, Wayne Knox & wife Lois of Belton, TX, 10 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and 6 great-great-grandchildren.

A loving wife and mother, she also ran a daycare in her home called Mama Knox’s Doll House. She had a magic way with children and raised them as her own, teaching them to read and write, eat healthy meals, get along with others, obey God, and respect their parents.  She was blessed with many talents.  She loved to cook, sew, crochet, knit, and decorate.  She was an accomplished artist, and her paintings are hanging on the walls of many friends and relatives.  She also loved to write poetry and short stories for children.  She was a woman of faith who studied the scriptures daily and shared her faith with others through weekly home Bible studies.  She has many friends in heaven and on earth.  If she could speak to you today, she would say, “Prepare to meet your Creator and fulfill the purpose for which you were created.  I will look for you in heaven.”

Memorial services will be held at The Good Shepherd Funeral Home at 12:30 PM, Monday, February 7th. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM at Raymondville Memorial Park Cemetery.
