Lydia Rutiaga, 100, passed away on Monday, November 3, 2025, in Raymondville, TX. She was born on August 4, 1925, to Luciano Garcia and Emilia Lopez Garcia, in Barrio Aldamas, Nuevo Leon, Mexico.

She is survived by her sons, Juan (JC) Rutiaga, Rudy Rutiaga, Ruben (Stacy) Rutiaga, Robert (Rosie) Rutiaga, Raul (Shara) Rutiaga, Ramiro Rutiaga and Ray Rutiaga, by her grandchildren, Emilia Hernandez-Quintanilla, Hector Hernandez, Frank Hernandez, Herman Rutiaga, Marco Rutiaga, Caroline Rutiaga, Nicholas Rutiaga, Natalia Rutiaga, Sabrina Rutiaga, Erika Rutiaga-Knox, Jennifer Onica, Janessa Rutiaga, Rick Rutiaga, Jeanie Rutiaga, Robert Rutiaga, Melissa Rutiaga, Michelle Rutiaga, Aiden Rutiaga, and Alba Rutiaga, by 18 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Francisco Rutiaga, her father, Luciano Garcia, her mother, Emilia Lopez, her daughter, Frances Rutiaga-Faseler, her son, Benito Rutiaga, her brothers, Arturo Garcia and Heriberto Garcia, her sister, Catalina Garcia, and her great grandson, Sebastian Rutiaga.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are her sons, Juan Rutiaga, Rudy Rutiaga, Ruben Rutiaga, Robert Rutiaga, Raul Rutiaga, Ramiro Rutiaga and Ray Rutiaga.

 Viewing was held on Friday, November 7, 2025, from 12 p.m. until 9 p.m. with a holy rosary at 7 p.m. at Good Shepherd Funeral Home. Funeral service was held on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at 11 a.m. at Good Shepherd Funeral Home. Interment followed to her final place of rest, next to her loving husband, at the Raymondville Memorial Park Cemetery.
