Marcos C. Ortiz

Marcos C. Ortiz, 82, passed away on Thursday, April 3, 2025, in Harlingen, Tx. He was born on December 25, 1942, in Matamoros, Mexico, to Marcos and Soledad Cabrielles Ortiz.

He is survived by his loving wife, Berta Alma Ortiz, his sons, Rene Ortiz, Americo (Cristina Gomez) Ortiz, Rigoberto (Jackie Nieto) Ortiz, Julio Ortiz, and Noel Ortiz, his daughters, Patricia Ortiz (Robert Cavazos), Ludivina (David) Garcia, and Veronica Ortiz, his brother, Humberto Ortiz, his sisters, Maria Cortez and Esperanza Perez, his grandchildren, John Michael Ortiz, Robert Joseph Cavazos (Fatima Figueroa), Zachary Thomas Cavazos (Cheyenne Lund), Cecilia Ortiz, Noah Ortiz, Diego Ortiz, Dorian Nicole Medina (Jorge Medina), Aliyah Dyann Garcia (Christopher Martinez), Cheyanne Dee Garcia, DeMarco Dutton, Angelina Lopez, Breanna Garza, Elijah Ortiz, and Isaiah Ortiz, and his great grandchildren, Axel Ray Cavazos, Enzo Christopher Cavazos, John Ivan Medina and Victoria Nicole Medina.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Marcos Ortiz and Soleda Cabrielles, his brothers, Raul Ortiz, Juan Ortiz, Carmelo Ortiz, and Jose Ortiz, and his sisters, Maria Reyna Garza and Tomasa Rodriguez.

Viewing will be held on Sunday, April 6, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., with a prayer service at 6:00 p.m. at Good Shepherd Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held on Monday, April 7, 2025, at 2 p.m. at Good Shepherd Funeral Home. All services will conclude at this time.
