Margarita Fonseca Obituary

Margarita G. Fonseca, 94, entered into eternal rest on Monday, March 2, 2026, at her residence.  She was born in Raymondville, TX., on January 24, 1932, to Natividad Gonzales and Maria Carmen De Leon.

She earned a master’s degree in love and parenting, devoting her life wholeheartedly to her family. Her greatest joy was nurturing those she loved and guiding them with patience, wisdom, and unwavering devotion.  She had a passion for travel and embraced every opportunity to explore new places and create lasting memories. Spanish music filled her heart with happiness, and she found pure joy on the dance floor, moving gracefully to the rhythms she adored. An active and proud member of Amigos del Valle, she valued community, friendship, and connection. Known for her elegance and impeccable sense of fashion, she carried herself with grace and style in everything she did. Her warmth, vibrant spirit, and love for life will forever be remembered by all who knew her.

She is survived by her sons, Rafael (Isabel) Fonseca Jr., and Gilbert Fonseca, her daughters, Olivia (Roger) Muniz, Edna (Betty Lord) Fonseca, and Glenda (Charlie Zhu) Fonseca, one brother, Uvalde Gonzales, 11 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Natividad and Maria Carmen De Leon Gonzales, her daughter, Gloria Anderson, her grandson, Andrew T. Lord, her sister Mary G. Mendoza, and her brother Eustolio Gonzales.
