Maria Yolanda (Almanza) Munoz

Maria Yolanda Almanza Munoz, 76, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, June 19, 2025, in Brownsville, Texas. Maria was born in Raymondville Tx, on December 17, 1948, to Silverio Almanza and Pompeya Sauceda Almanza.

Maria was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She was a gentle spirit and kind heart touched everyone she met. She truly was the sweetest person imaginable – always ready with a warm smile, a listening ear, and unconditional love. Her family was the center of her world, and she poured her heart into every moment spent with them. Maria’s grace, patience, and quiet strength will be remembered and cherished forever by all who were blessed to know her. Her legacy of love lives on in the hearts of her family and friends.

She is survived by her loving husband, Edward Munoz, her son, Edward Ray Munoz (Bonnie), her daughter, Deana Marie Munoz (Osbaldo), her brothers, Maximino Almanza (Gloria), and Silverio Almanza Jr. (Mary Alice), her sisters, Ricarda Almanza, Maria Melendez, Catalina White, and Carmen Garcia, and her grandchildren, Victoria S. White, Aaron R. Ramirez, John E. Munoz, and Isabella R. Munoz.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Silverio Almanza Sr., and Pompeya Almanza, her brothers, Wenceslado Almanza, Tereso Almanza, Esteban Almanza, Juan Almanza and Wenceslao Almanza, and her sister, Higinia Almanza.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are Eric Garcia, Osbaldo Escamilla, Carlos Almanza, Christian Almanza, Hector Hernandez, and John Robert Hernandez.

Viewing will be held on Wednesday, June 25, 2025, from 12 p.m. until 9 p.m. with a holy rosary at 7 p.m. at Good Shepherd Funeral Home. Funeral mass will be held on Thursday, June 26, 2025, at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Interment will follow to her final place of rest at the Raymondville Memorial Park Cemetery where she will receive full military honors.
