Marina M. Contreras, 88, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, April 2, 2026, at her residence. She was born in Mexico, to Graciano Martinez and Andrea Sanchez Martinez, on December 27, 1937.
She had a deep love for plants, especially roses and geraniums and found joy in knitting and crocheting. Above all, she cherished spending time with her family.
She is survived by her loving husband, Anastacio Contreras Sr., her sons, Anastacio Contreras Jr. (Mary Jane), Ignacio Contreras, Lolo Contreras (Hilda), Ruben Contreras, Arturo Contreras Sr. (Maria), George Contreras (Angie), Fabian Contreras (Jade), her daughters, Sandra Sanchez (Jessie) and Norma Nava (Edward), her brothers, Ricardo Martinez, Victorio Martinez and Natividad Martinez, her sister, Elena Martinez, by 30 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren, and by 2 great great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Graciano and Andrea Martinez, her sisters, Guadalupe Martinez, Micaela Martinez, and Christina Martinez.
Honored to serve as pallbearers will be her loving sons.
Viewing will be held on Monday, April 6, 2026, from 12 p.m. until 9 p.m. with a Holy Rosary at 7 p.m. and will resume on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. with a Holy Rosary at 7 p.m. at Good Shepherd Funeral Home. Funeral mass will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, April 8, 2026, at St. Anne’s Catholic Church in San Perlita. Interment will follow to her final place of rest at the Raymondville Memorial Park Cemetery.
