Michael B. Boylan was born on October 20, 1932 in Oklahoma and died on November 21, 2023 in Houston, Texas. Michael resided in Caracas, Venezuela for the first 13 years of his life then moved to Raymondville, Texas in 1945. He attended Lawrenceville School in New jersey and in 1950 attended MIT where he obtained a Bachler of Science in Business and Engineering Administration. He served in the U.S. Army in Ordinance Corps and received an honorable discharged as 1st Lt. Upon Graduation from MIT, Michael worked for Continental Oil Co., as market research analyst, Coordinating and Planning Dept., and as a Technical Representative in Japan, in the Petro /Chemical Department for eight years and two years with Continental Carbon Co. Michael began to invest in real estate and after leaving Continental Carbon, as President of The Houston Property Management Corporation, he invested in apartments and commercial properties.
When not overseeing his apartments and other real estate investments, a few of his activities included Director and Officer of Houston Apartment Association; Past Chairman of New Waverly State Bank; Organizer and Past Vice Chairman, First Houston Bank; and Past Director of Venezuelan Pepsi Cola Bottling companies.
Michael was a lifelong member of the Episcopal Church, and was a member and head usher of St. Martin’s Episcopal Church. In addition to St. Martin’s, Micheal had many other philanthropic activities which just a few of them included Cal Farley’s Boys Ranch, Boylan YMCA Houston, Mexican Murial at Heritage Society at Sam Houston Park.
Some of Michael’s community activities included past Trustee of Purnell School, New Jersey, Candidate for Houston City Council Houston Heights Rotary Club, Oak Forest Lions Club, and Houston Chamber of Commerce Committee for regional Mobility.
Michael was also a life-long member of the Republican Party and a founding member of Associated Republicans of Texas. He was honored with a Pioneer Award by the Harris County Republican Party and when asked during the presentation who had been helped by Michael, hundreds of attendees stood-up!
A graveside funeral will be held on Saturday, December 2, 2023, at 11 A.M. at the Raymondville Memorial Park Cemetery officiated by Pastor Chris Martinez.
Pallbearers are Sen. Paul Bettencourt, Orlando Sanchez, Christian Hering, Richard Cunningham, Scot Campbell, Scot Arnold, Colin Campbell, Kevin Campbell.
Honorary Pallbearers are Alvin Zimmerman, Allen E. Blakemore, Phillip Aronoff, John Kirksey, and Dennis Brieter.
