Our beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, Minerva Chavez passed away with her family by her side on May 3, 2026, at the age of 78 years old in her home in Sebastian, TX. She was born in Sebastian, TX on May 21, 1947, to Luciano and Rosa Rocha.
Minerva was a loving and kind woman, who always took care of her family. She was known for baking delicious cakes and had a great work ethic. She was always active in her garden, an excellent seamstress, a great cook and loved spending time with her family. Minerva and her late husband spent their final years together traveling in their RV and antique shopping to sell on Market days. Most importantly she was an active prayer warrior. Her faith in Christ did not waiver, even in her final days.
She is survived by her sons, Adalberto Chavez Jr (Nelda) and Mark Chavez (Denise), her daughter, Lucinda Esparza (Gilbert), her brothers, Leonel Rocha, Leovaldo Rocha, Ricardo Rocha, and Fabian Rocha, her sisters, Elvira and Rosalinda Ringo, 15 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Luciano and Rosa Rocha, and her husband, Adalberto Chavez Sr.
Honored to serve as pallbearers are Gilbert Esparza Jr., Aric Esparza, Marc Chavez, Noah Chavez, Joshua Chavez, and Levi Sanchez. Honorary pallbearers are Lucas Garza, and Gilbert Esparza III.
Viewing will be held on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, from 12 p.m. until 9 p.m. with a holy rosary at 7 p.m. at Good Shepherd Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 7, 2026, at 10 a.m. at Good Shepherd Funeral Home. All services will conclude right after.
