Odilon Alvarez, 81, entered into eternal rest on Monday, September 27, 2021 surrounded by his loving family at his residence in Raymondville, Texas. He was born on January 1, 1940 in Doctor Arroyo, Nuevo Leon, Mexico to Jose Matilde Alvarez and Maria Ines Castro.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Jose Matilde Alvarez and Maria Ines Castro, sisters, Antonia Alvarez, Elisa Alvarez, and Nicolasa Alvarez. He is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Beatriz Molina Alvarez, sons, Antonio Chavez, Edward Chavez, Victor Chavez, Simon Chavez, Arnulfo Alvarez, and Santos Alvarez, daughters, Maria Chavez, Zita Alvarez Eguia, Idalia Alvarez Eguia, Maria de Vasquez, and Gavina Alvarez, and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren.

Viewing will be held on Friday, October 1, 2021 from 12:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. with a rosary at 6:00 P.M. at Good Shepherd Funeral Home. A chapel service will be held on Saturday, October 2, 2021 at 1:00 P.M. at Good Shepherd Funeral Home. All services will conclude following the chapel service.
