Olga (Ramirez) Contreras

Olga Ramirez Contreras, age 87, entered into eternal rest on June 13, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. She was born on March 19, 1939, in Penitas, Texas, to her devoted parents, Maximo Ramirez and Justina Treviño Ramirez.

Olga was a woman of remarkable strength, unwavering conviction, and deep, abiding faith. Throughout her life, she faced many obstacles and hardships, yet she met every challenge with dignity, courage, and a steadfast trust in God. Her devotion to the Three Crosses of Redemption, as revealed in Scripture, guided her steps and shaped her understanding of grace.

She reflected often on the scene at Calvary — the Cross of Christ, where salvation was given; the cross of the repentant thief, who found mercy in his final moments; and the cross of the unrepentant thief, a reminder of the choices every soul must make. To Olga, these three crosses were not only symbols but living truths. They taught her about sacrifice, forgiveness, and the hope of redemption available to all who believe.

Even in difficult seasons, Olga held firmly to her belief that God brings purpose out of pain and light out of darkness. Her trials refined her spirit and deepened her compassion. She emerged with a generous heart, a quiet wisdom, and a faith strengthened by experience. She shared that strength freely, offering comfort, encouragement, and hope to all who knew her.

Olga’s life was a testament to resilience, love, and unwavering belief. Her legacy lives on in the lives she touched, the values she upheld, and the faith she carried so boldly. May her soul rest in the peace of Christ, and may her memory continue to shine as a reminder of grace, redemption, and the saving power of the Three Crosses.

She is survived by her husband, Abel Contreras, her sons, Daniel Contreras, David Contreras (Cecilia), Abel Contreras (Terry), and her daughters, Rosalie Tristan (Robert) and Yolanda Rivas (Gaston), Melissa De La Paz (Robert). She was blessed with 20 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews who were each a source of joy, pride, and purpose in her life.

She is preceded in death by her cherished granddaughter Analisa Karina Tristan, whose memory remains forever close to her heart. Also preceded in death by her brothers, Ramiro Ramirez, Ruben Ramirez, Rodolfo Ramirez, Raul Ramirez, Hector Ramirez and her sisters, Rebecca Gutierrez and Bertha Castaneda.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are Daniel C. Contreras, Robert Tristan, Robert De La Paz, Carl David Contreras, Jonathan Contreras and Tomas Rodriguez. Honorary pallbearers are Robert Zoe Tristan and Javen Garza. 

Viewing will be held on Monday, June 15, from 12:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. with a holy rosary at 7:00 pm at the Good Shepherd Funeral Home. Funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, at 1:00 pm at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Raymondville. Interment will follow to her final place of rest at Raymondville Memorial Park Cemetery.
