Oscar de Luna Obituary

Oscar De Luna, 64, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, March 25, 2021 at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Harlingen, Texas. He was born on August 10, 1956 in Raymondville, Texas to Jose and Teresa De Luna.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years Perla De Luna, sons, Oscar (Maritsa) De Luna Jr., Gabriel (Tammi) De Luna, and Dominic (Christina) De Luna, sister, Ernestina Gomez, five grandchildren Joshua De Luna, Amber De Luna, Oscar (Trey) De Luna III., Daemian De Luna and Izabella “Bella” De Luna, one great grandson Beau Gabriel De Luna, and many nieces and nephews. 

County Commissioner Oscar De Luna Sr. served his community faithfully for over 30 years including as the San Perlita City Mayor and San Perlita Fire Chief.  It was through his leadership that the City of San Perlita acquired improved city infrastructure including new roads, a Fire Station and Community Center.  He will be greatly missed and may he rest in peace.

Visitation was held on Saturday, March 27, 2021 from 5:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. with a rosary at 7:00 P.M. then was continued on Sunday, March 28, 2021 from 1:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M., with recitation of the holy rosary at 7:00 P.M. at the Good Shepherd Funeral Home. A church mass was held on Monday, March 29, 2021 at Prince of Peace in Lyford, Texas at 10:00 A.M. A funeral procession followed to his final place of rest at the Raymondville Memorial Park Cemetery.

Honored to serve as pallbearers were Omar Nieto, Rolando Gomez, Eddie Cavazos, Cesar Sepulveda, Richard dela Garza, Joshua De Luna, Trey De Luna, Dilsia Contreras, and Daemian De Luna.

Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the caring hands of Good Shepherd Funeral Home, 1157 W. Hidalgo Ave., Raymondville, TX 78580.
