Pedro Najera

Pedro Najera, 73, entered into eternal rest on Friday, February 13, 2026, in Harlingen, TX.  He was born in Raymondville, TX., on June 29, 1952, to Alberto Najera and Carmen Tanguma.

Pedro Najera was a co-founder of Nuevo Vida en Cristo Church, where his faith and dedication helped build a strong spiritual foundation for many. A devoted son, he lovingly cared for his parents throughout their lives. Though he never married, Pedro played an important role in helping raise his younger siblings and nieces and nephews, offering them guidance, support, and unconditional love.

Known for his kind heart and generous spirit, he was always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. A true man of God, Pedro lived his faith daily with humility and compassion. In his free time, he found peace and joy in fishing, embracing the simple blessings of life and the beauty of God’s creation.

He is survived by brothers, Alberto Najera Jr., Paul Najera, Juan Najera, Ruben Najera, Jose Najera, and Manuel Najera, and his sisters, Elidia Jaramillo, Guadalupe Perez, Carmen Escobar, Estella Rodríguez, and Gloria Najera.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Alberto Sr. and Carmen Najera, his sister, Mama Rose Hinojosa, and Paulina Cano.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are Amando Jaramillo, Lupe Cano Jr., Alberto Najera III, Alvino Rosales, Humberto Jesus Rodriguez, Manuel Najera Jr., Kevin Lee Garcia, and Paul Andrew Najera. 

Viewing will be held on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, from 10 a.m. until 9 p.m. with a prayer service at 7 p.m. at Good Shepherd Funeral Home and will resume on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. at Templo Nueva Vida en Cristo Church in Raymondville. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, at 2 p.m. at Templo Nueva Vida en Cristo Church in Raymondville.  Interment will follow to his final place of rest at the Raymondville Memorial Park Cemetery.
