Regina (Salinas) Cantu

Regina S. Cantu, 98, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, in Harlingen, TX. She was born on September 7, 1927, to Ildefonso Salinas and Felicitas Ramirez.

She was the heart of our family - a source of strength, warmth, and unconditional love. Her kindness, wisdom, and beautiful spirit touched everyone who knew her. While our hearts are heavy, we are comforted knowing she was embraced by family in her final moments and surrounded by love.

She is survived by her sons, Juan Jorge Cantu (Anita), Abiel Jaime Cantu (Irma), and Jose Guadalupe Cantu (Adela), her brothers, Ignacio and Israel Salinas, her grandchildren, Jorge Cantu (Marissa), Joey Cantu (Emily), Amanda Cantu, Sara Cantu (Mark), Jaime Cantu, Aaron Cantu (Callie), and Angela Cantu, her great grandchildren, Jeremiah Loebig, Jaliyah Castro, Arabella Castro, Matteo Cantu, Arabella J. Robles and Teá Cantu, and by numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Guadalupe Cantu, her parents, Ildefonso and Felicitas Salinas, her brothers Lazaro, David, Eliseo, and Blas, her sisters Isabel, Felicita, and Trinidad and her grandson, Jose Eduardo Cantu.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are Jorge Cantu, Joey Cantu, Jaime Cantu, Aaron Cantu, Jeremiah Loebig, and Matteo Cantu.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 14, 2026, from 2 p.m. until 9 p.m. with a holy rosary at 7 p.m. at Good Shepherd Funeral Home. Funeral mass will be held on Friday, May 15, 2026, at 2 p.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Interment will follow to her final place of rest next to her loving husband, at the Raymondville Memorial Cemetery Park.
