Rev. Elisa (Gonzales) Montez

Rev. Elisa G. Montez, 78, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, September 20, 2025, surrounded by her family and friends at Valley Baptist Medical Center. Elisa was born on May 28, 1947, in Seagoville, Texas. To Yldifonso Gonzales and Aurora Flores Gonzales.

 She is survived by her loving husband, Santiago “Jimmy” Montez, her daughters, Eloise Montez Collins, and Yvonne Montez, her brothers, Elifonso Gonzales, Adan Gonzales, and Jaime Gonzales, her sisters, Eva Garza, Yolanda Sessions, and Marlen Saldivar, her grandchildren, James Montez, Noah Collins, Kayla Sanchez, and Hannah Sanchez.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Yldifonso Gonzales and Rosa Aurora Gonzales.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are James Montez, Brian Collins, Noah Collins, Eric Gonzales, Joe Lucio, and Ernesto Sanchez.

Viewing will be held on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, from 12 p.m. until 9 p.m. with a prayer service at 7 p.m. at Good Shepherd Funeral Home.  Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, at 11 a.m. at Good Shepherd Funeral Home. Interment will follow to her final place of rest at the Raymondville Memorial Park Cemetery.
