Ricarda M. Almanza, 83, passed away on Tuesday, August 5, 2025, in Harlingen, TX. She was born on February 7, 1942, in Mexico, to the late Silverio Almanza Sr. and Pompeya Sauceda.
Ricarda was a beloved daughter, sister, and aunt. She was a retired nurse and very much enjoyed caring for babies in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. She loved to crochet and knit as well. She will be greatly missed and through your prayers may her journey to our Heavenly Father be quick.
She is survived by her brothers, Maximo Almanza (Gloria), and Silverio Almanza Jr. (Mary Alice), her sisters, Mary Melendez (Rolando Sr.), Catalina White (Homer), and Carmen (+Rene) Garcia.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Silverio Almanza Sr. and Pompeya Almanza, her siblings, Wenceslado, Tereso, Esteban, Higinia, Juan, Wenceslao, and Yolanda, her maternal grandparents, Jose Carmen Sauceda and Vicenta Ruiz-Sauceda, her great uncle, Evaristo Ruiz, and her paternal grandparents, Severiano Almanza and Antonia Almanza.
Honored to serve as pallbearers are Eric Garcia, Ray Munoz, Tereso Almanza, and Carlos Almanza Sr.
Viewing will be held on Friday, August 8, 2025, from 3 p.m. until 9 p.m. with a holy rosary at 7 p.m. at Good Shepherd Funeral Home. Funeral mass will be held on Saturday, August 9, 2025, at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Interment will follow to her final place of rest at the Raymondville Memorial Park Cemetery.
