Ricardo Valdez, 77, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 16, 2025, in Harlingen, TX. He was born on June 27, 1948, in Mexico, to Jose and Margarita Valdez.
He is survived by loving wife, Teresa Valdez, his sons, Guadalupe Valdez, Ricardo Valdez, Rene Valdez, Jesus Valdez, and David Valdez, his daughters, Margarita Valdez, Esmeralda Valdez, Coco (Valdez) Plunkett, Alma (Valdez) Christensen, and Elsa (Valdez) Guerra, his sister, Elsa Escobar, and his grandchildren, Katalina Wernli, Sebastian Wernli, Gizel Valdez, Cameron Wernli, Hailey Rose Valdez, Isabella Valdez, Paola Valdez, Stefan Wernli, Santiago Valdez, Gabriela Plunkett, Liliana Plunkett, Audelia Christensen, and Alvin Christensen.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Jose Guadalupe Valdez and Margarita Ambriz and his brother, Ernesto Kafka.
Honored to serve as pallbearers are Guadalupe Valdez, Ricardo Valdez, Rene Valdez, Jesus Valdez, David Valdez, and Sebastian Wernli.
Viewing will be held on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, from 1 p.m. until 9 p.m. with a prayer service at 6:30 p.m. at Good Shepherd Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 20, 2025, at 10 p.m. Good Shepherd Funeral Home. Interment will follow to his final place of rest at the Raymondville Memorial Park Cemetery.
