Rosa Aurora Garza, 83, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, January 12, 2025, at her home in Lasara, TX. She was born on May 16, 1941, in Hargill, TX, to Macedonio and Jesusa (Garza) Davila.
Aurora's ministry was cooking and serving funeral meals for the community alongside her husband. She loved cooking for others, baking, and caring for her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She also enjoyed sewing and teaching others. She loved organizing school talent shows and church events.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Macedonio and Jesusa (Garza) Davila, husband, Miguel Homero Garza and daughter, Veronica Saldivar.
She is survived by her sons, Mike (Janet) Garza, Joe (Crystal) Garza, Gabriel Garza, and Eddie Garza, her daughters, Dina (Manuel) Rodriguez, Dennisse Vela, and Marina Garza, her grandchildren, Lisette Richardson, Emmanual Rodriguez, Joshua Rodriguez, Jonathan Rodriguez, Hanna Thompson, Sarah Birke, Peter Garza, Nina Laboy, Michael Garza, Samantha Ariola, Alyssa Santos, Robert Garza, Cristian Garza, Gabby Garza, Arieana Garza, Brianna Saldivar, Kaige Saldivar, Eric Vela, and Melissa Rios, and her great grandchildren, Jake Richardson, Ryan Richardson, Seven Garza, Faith Garza, Stassy Garza, Andrew Garza, Theo Laboy, Coy Rodriguez, Casyn Rodriguez, Conley Rodriguez, Colston Rodriguez, Amelia Thompson, Ainsley Thompson, Ricky Rios, Melanie Rios, Ayden Ariola, Blake Ariola, Brody Ariola, Reid Garza, soon to be Olivia Rose Garza, Jake Santos, Aralyn Santos, Jemma Cavazos, Amari Simmons, Aalyiah Saldivar, and Emmery Saldivar, and a great-great-grandchild, Noah Rios.
She will always be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all those whose lives she touched.
Honored to serve as pallbearers are Joshua Rodriguez, Jonathan Rodriguez, Michael Garza, Peter Garza, Ayden Ariola, and Kaige Saldivar. Also honored to serve as honorary pallbearer is Emmanuel Rodriguez.
Visitation will be held on Friday, January 17, 2025, from 12 p.m. until 9 p.m., with a holy rosary at 7 p.m. at Good Shepherd Funeral Home. Funeral mass will be held on Saturday, January 18, 2025, at 10 a.m. at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, in Lasara, Texas. Interment will follow to her final place of rest at the Lasara Cemetery.
