Rosita Guzman Garza, 93, left us to journey home to everlasting life on November 5, 2021.
She was born on June 12, 1928, at her family's ranch in San Antonio de Olmos, Reynosa, Tamaulipas to Clemente and Cornelia Guzman, the fourth of five children.
While life was hard after losing her mother at age nine, she doted on her little brother and worked hard to persevere. She married Eliseo Garza, and they moved to Raymondville to raise their family, including Joe (Esmeralda), Gloria, Yolanda, Sylvia (Alfonso) and Frank, and cherished time with grandchildren Sergio (Barbara) and Yvette (David). She was the backbone of her family; self-taught in most things, and by example she taught us all the value and fulfillment gained by hard work, making time for friends and family, and volunteering.
Along with the extended family, including your brother Gilberto and sisters Ester, Lydia and Magdalena and great-grandchildren: Mariah, Nathan and Alysandra Gonzalez and Dallas Garcia, and beloved sisters-in-law, nieces, and nephews, we are forever grateful that you were ours for a little while, and though our hearts will forever be broken, you will live on in our thoughts, hearts, and actions. May you spend eternity in glory and peace, away from pain and decline, blissfully rejoicing in the beloved mother and father, husband, and sisters: Emilia and Josefina, who we know have been waiting for you.
Visitation was held on Monday, November 8, 2021 from 1:00 P.M. until 5:00 P.M. and resumed on Tuesday, November 9, 2021 from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. with a rosary at 6:00 P.M. at Good Shepherd Funeral Home. A chapel service was held on Wednesday, November 10, 2021 at 10:00 A.M. at Good Shepherd Funeral Home. A funeral procession followed to her final place of rest in the Raymondville Memorial Park Cemetery.
Honored to serve as pallbearers were Sergio Gonzalez, Alfonso Gonzalez, Nathan Gonzalez, Jacob Villarreal, Frank Garza, and Andres Reyes Jr. Honorary pallbearers were Joe Garza and Dallas Eli Garcia.
Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the caring hands of Good Shepherd Funeral Home 1157 W. Hidalgo Ave., Raymondville, Texas.
